A HERO’S LIFE

San Gaetano is a small town in the countryside of the Italian Veneto region; it has no noteworthy historical, artistic or territorial features. I wished to render it memorable by unveiling the potential energies present in the lives of its inhabitants, who are hidden in its supposed anonymity. Through an interactive process lasting several months, I related with the town’s inhabitants, choosing as a location the only large company present in town, whose impersonal offices became the setting in which to enact scenes of personal heroism. Here, freed from all forms of judgment, the participants showcased what they imagined themselves to be, both in the near future and the long ago past.
